LADIES, PROTECT YOURSELVES VICIOUSLY AND APPROPRIATELY!
Today we are facing unprecedented numbers of violent attacks against women. There has been an increase in public awareness in regards to violence against women, but no true legal reform has occurred to help prevent these attacks or prosecute the predators. But despite the statistics, American women still don't get it. How many times have I seen women and teenage girls walking in a dark parking lot talking on their cell phone or texting totally oblivious to their surroundings?
Recently, I was in the parking lot in Oceanside, CA where a woman was recently stabbed to death after leaving a store where she was shopping in broad daylight. This just proves that you don’t have to be in a dark parking lot or a bad neighborhood to be in danger. The point is women need to start protecting themselves no matter where they are, especially now in a sagging economy and record high unemployment numbers.
First, women should think about taking self defense classes. Many self defense classes are affordable and are suitable for any kind of fitness leveI. I recently took another self defense class at and learned how to protect myself using a kubaton – an ancient Chinese weapon that can put a predator down if you know how to use it.
We were also educated on what rapists look for in a victim – hairstyle: ponytails, braids, and long hair – easy to grab; clothing that is easily removed, Many rapists carry scissors to cut clothes off of women; women on cell phones, women searching for something such as keys in their purse, women not paying attention to their surroundings; women walking with their head down.
And how can women deter a rapist from attacking a woman? Extensive interviews with convicted rapists had this to say. Rapists will avoid a woman who puts up a fight, a woman carrying an umbrella, a woman who makes eye contact and who will make small talk, a woman who will put up her hands in front of her body and start yelling loudly; a woman who will let the rapist know she is carrying pepper spray. Secondly, women need to have an anti-rape attack kit, and it doesn't take a lot of money to put one together.
Here are the six essential items a woman should have with her at all times are:
1) A charged cell phone; 2) Personal alarm or whistle 3) Pepper Spray 4) Kubaton 5) Flashlight 5) A plan of escape and or attack.
For instance, if you are confronted with a potential attacker, the first thing you need to do is STAY CALM and don’t freak out. It will only make you hyperventilate and lose focus. Next is to perform a threat assessment. Is there more than one attacker? What does he (they) look like? What weapons are involved? If there is more than one attacker, who is the leader of the pack? If you have to fight, he is the ONE you want to attack first. Most importantly, if your gut tells you that this is a dangerous situation, you must act quickly and appropriately. Start screaming FIRE!!! If you have to fight back, do so viciously and with your hands up – makes fists, hide your vital organs by moving to the side. Drop eyes to the center of the predator’s chest and disconnect yourself that he is a human being. Eyes focused on the center of the attacker’s chest will also help you determine which way he is going to move. If you have a pepper spray, aim it directly at his eyes – if he is temporarily blinded, he can’t see you, so you can run. If you don’t have pepper spray, use your fingers to poke out his eyeballs – believe me, he will be in pain and sightless long enough for you to escape.
Personal protection devices are products that women should consider purchasing and to carry with them at all times. These items are easily available on the internet, and there are many more choices of personal protection devices that are affordable and legal in most states.
http://www.Stingergirlz offers a great selection of C2 Tasers, pepper sprays, mace and stun guns as well as kubatons and personal alarms. Home security is also important, especially if a woman is home alone. Stingergirlz has an impressive inventory of products especially designed to keep you and your family safe within the walls of your living quarters.
Our goal is to empower women and help them stay safe. If a woman is a victim of violence, we list several helpful resources below for women who need help, and the site publishes a list of hotline numbers in each state. It is time for women to stand up for their rights and their personal safety.

LOVE DOESN'T HURT
Both Dr. Phil and Oprah dedicated their March 11th shows on women and Domestic Violence, specifically discussing the shocking story of Chris Brown and Rhianna. During the show, Oprah also interviewed a group of female students from Charlotte, North Carolina whose friend was shot to death by her ex-boyfriend. The murdered girl was described as outgoing, popular and talented and none of her friends knew that she was involved in an abusive relationship until she was killed. In all the stories I have read about domestic violence, there always seems to be a common thread -- the woman's secrecy of the abuse and her fear of leaving the abuser.
But sometimes it isn't always fear that keeps the woman from running in the other direction. So many young women have terrible self-esteem issues no matter how beautiful, smart and successful they are. A young girl in Oprah's audience made a statememt that she felt it was wrong for Chris to hit Rhianna but that he did it in self defense and was trying to protect himself. She also went on to comment that Rhianna probably felt guilty and that's why she went back to Brown. Oprah addressed the girl's comment by stating that in her (Oprah's)opinion, Rhianna went back to him because of low self esteem issues. Tyra Banks, who co-hosted the show, admitted that she too was involved in an emotionally abusive relationship for years until she finally had the courage to end it. What is even more amazing is that Rhianna is back with the man who left her face looking like a bloodied piece of meat and who are even planning to sing a duet together. What kind of message is Rhianna communicating to all the young girls who look up to her and admire her? She is also in danger of destroying her newly found success as a pop singer for this schmuck and for what? So he can use her face as his personal punching bag whenever he gets angry?
There was discussion that both Chris and Rhianna came from emotionally abusive homes so both of these people are very familiar with these types of unhealthy relationships. It is almost as if Rhianna feels she deserves to be beaten and Chris Brown feels he has the right to beat her. The fact that many young people believe Rhianna deserved to be brutalized because Chris was acting out in "self-defense" is horrendous all by itself. This opinion is right up there with idiots who feel that girls deserved to be raped because they wear short skirts and high heels, even if she says "no." She was asking for it because she was dressed like a prostitute. It just goes to show that we haven't gotten that far as a civilization when women being beaten and raped are viewed as something that they probably deserved. What did she DO to him that warranted such aggressive actions? Sure, we've come along way to vote in a black president, but women are still considered the second-hand citizens of the world, and some cultures even encourage the murder of women if they disobey their husbands.
The 24-7 Press Release for Oprah's show "Love Doesn't Hurt" states the following eye-opening statistics regarding violence against women in the United States alone:
• In the United States there are 3800 animal shelters nationwide and only 1500 shelters for women that are victims of domestic violence.
• Young women ages 16-24 experience the highest rate of domestic violence.
• 5.3 million Domestic Violence incidents occur each year among U.S. women.
• Every 15 seconds in the U.S. a woman is beaten.
• About 1 in 4 women are likely to be abused by a partner in her lifetime.
These numbers will most likely increase as the economic crisis continues to financially devastate families across the nation. It is Rhianna's duty as a role model to testify against Brown and set a precedence for all women who have experienced and survived domestic violence. It is Rhianna's responsibility to communicate the message that no woman deserves to be brualized, and the man who dares to go there will be punished to the umph degree. Unfortunately, Rhianna's reconciliation with Brown is an indication that she is going to "stand by her man. " I only hope that the next time Brown's violent temper flares up, he doesn't close Rhianna's umbrella for good.
I applaud both Dr. Phil and Oprah for using their shows as vehicles to communicate awareness of domestic violence against women and how we as a nation can stop it.

RIHANNA – POSTER CHILD FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
It is shocking and even appalling that the media leaked the battered and beaten face of Rihanna taken at the police station right after her boyfriend, Chris Brown, allegedly assaulted her. Ironically, because of Rihanna’s fame and popularity, this disturbing photo may just be the wake-up call we all needed. Only 21 years of age, the talented and beautiful young pop star is already a statistic of domestic violence that is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s society. It is sad that it takes a celebrity to be brutally assaulted by her up and coming Grammy nominated boyfriend to generate world-wide media attention. Men are assaulting and killing their wives and girlfriends every day without so much of a blip on the radar. In fact, the Muslim man in Buffalo, NY who just recently beheaded his wife barely made national news. If it weren’t for the internet, I never would have heard about it.
It’s been almost a decade that we have been living in the 21st Century, an incredible time in the history of civilization, and to which has delivered incredible achievements. It is a time in history where breast cancer has finally been globally recognized as one of the leading cause of death in women and is being treated as such. It is a time where a woman competitively ran against a black man for the title of the highest rank in the United States and almost won. It is a time that is open-minded enough to vote in the first African American President a mere four decades after the assassination of Martin Luther King. It is a time where home televisions are as large as a public cinema’s and computers are as small as a wrist watch. Technology is allowing us the opportunity to be well informed of what goes on around the world 24/7 no matter where you are and what you are doing. Well, NOW is the time to use this technology to arm ourselves with the knowledge and tools which may someday save your own or another woman’s life.
It is critical to acknowledge a very clear fact that according to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year. Even more deplorable is that a significant number of crimes are never reported because the victim feels nothing can/will be done to stop the rapist from doing it again. In today’s society, it is amazing that women still believe they are resigned to being victims without fighting back. The bottom line is that we have to open up our eyes, our minds and our hearts to the painful truth that so many women are victims to the worst casualties of life – indiscrimination, sexual assault, domestic violence and the worst violation of all – the inattention of such a pandemic sickness which is growing in numbers every day. Violence against women shows no favoritism – any religion or race will do, rich or poor, college educated or a high school drop-out – it doesn’t make a freaking bit of difference. The idiom, the “weaker sex” will continue to live on as powerful as ever if we allow it to. We, as women, need to educate ourselves on the law and our constitutional rights. Most importantly, we need to own up that it is our responsibility and our responsibility alone to protect ourselves by any means we can -- self defense training videos or classes, literature and personal protection devices. I personally prefer a Taser because if you can’t beat them, zap the motherf’ers.
As an end note, the horrific photo of Rihanna’s brutally beaten face is a fearful reminder that this beautiful young girl could be my daughter, your daughter, your sister, mother, aunt, girlfriend. I pray that you will never have to experience such horror against a loved one. Please stay safe. Peace out.

Man accused of wife's beheading appears in court
Yet another domestic violence incident that ended with the husband chopping off his estranged wife's head. Have you noticed that in so many of these shocking stories involve an "estranged" wife or girlfriend that has filed a restraining order against the ex husband or boyfriend, but nothing is ever really done to protect the woman from harm? The man in Buffalo, New York, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 37-year-old wife, Aasiya Zubair Hassan, days after she filed for divorce and was granted a restraining order against him.
First of all, why is this bastard only charged with SECOND DEGREE MURDER??? The general rule is 1st Degree is pre-meditated, planned out or particularly cruel. 2nd Degree is not planned out. Excuse me, maybe Hassan didn't spend weeks planning the decapitation of his wife, but her murder was definitely cruel. There were also numerous calls to the police reporting domestic violence in the home and nothing was ever done. A blog was posted by a woman in Pakistan claiming she is the sister of this "brutally murdered woman" and stated "She lived her 8 years of married life with fear in heart," Zubair wrote. "He had already frightened her enough that she couldn't muster up her guts and leave him, and when she finally did gather that much strength he killed her so brutally. She lived to protect her children from this man and his family and she died doing so."
This creep should be charged with 1st degree murder and receive the death penalty -- life in prison just doesn't cut it especially since it will be the taxpayers supporting this sub-human for years to come. He needs to answer for his cruelty and viciousness to the mother of his children.
It's amazing how our society today still does not take it seriously when a woman files a restraining order against someone who she is obviously in fear of her life. Believe me, if someone scared me that much, screw the restraining order. It doesn't seem to matter anyway. I would do whatever I could to protect myself and my children, because it is obvious no one else is going to protect you unless you can afford your own personal bodyguard.
My heart goes out to Aasiya's children who no longer have a mother to grow up with, to her family who will never again speak to her or hug her, and to Aasiya who will never have the happy married life that she dreamed of.
Domestic violence against women in the U.S. is becoming an epidemic and we have to do whatever we can to prevent and stop this brutality. We may have come a long way and voted in a black president, but as far as I'm concerned, women's rights still have a long way to go.
Peace out ~~

Preliminary Hearing Today For Man Accused In Estranged Wife's Murder
Sadly, 50 Year old Rosa Lisowski, a mother of two children from Ocean Beach, CA, is most likely another statistic of domestic violence. Rosa's body still remains missing, but it is pretty clear that her estranged husband, 68 year old Henry Lisowski, has his fingerprints all over this one. Rosa's blood was found on his kitchen counter and inside the passenger door of his Lexus. He also threatened her as far back as 2007, and he was furioius that she gained full custody of not only the two kids he had with her, but also two kids from a previous relationship. The icing on the cake was the $1,100 a month child support he was ordered to fork over in April 2008.
Despite the evidence against this predator, today there was a preliminary trial to decide whether or not to bring Lisowski to trial for the murder of his wife. What more evidence does the justice system need to bring this guy to trial who obviously had a hand in Rosa's disappearance and most likely, murder. His wife mysteriously disappeared a week before he was to start paying child support.
In my opinion I don't think you need to be a rocket science to put two and two together. The guy looks like a creep and does not appear to be one bit remorseful that his children are now left without a mother. Sadly, she is just one of the millions of women who are victims of domestic abuse and whose chance to live a lifetime has been violently taken away . When is this madness going to stop??

DEAD WOMEN DON'T DANCE
Despite the availability to buy inexpensive, non-lethal self protection devices on the internet, the statistics for rape, sexual abuse, kidnappings, and assault against women are alarmingly increasing with each passing day. More than 350 rapes occur each year per various colleges across the U.S. and this number does not include the unreported attacks. Women joggers are prime victims of being attacked, especially if they are alone. What is most shocking is the fact that many women know their attackers -- husbands, boyfriends, even fathers and brothers . According to a study done by the National Center for Victims of Crime, more than a million women nationwide are stalked each year and two-thirds of women who are murdered by men they know were stalked by those men prior to their deaths.
Ladies-WAKE UP!!! Self Protection devices are affordable, legal in most states and will not kill the son-of-a-bitch who tries to attack you. Tasers are somewhat pricey (around $349) but many women don't think twice of buying a pair of designer jeans for the same price but shy away from spending money on a personal protection device that may save their life. Stun guns range from $50 to $80 and most pepper sprays start as low as $10.00. Personal Protection devices are easy to use and compact enough to stick in your bag, hook on your belt or small enough to attach to your key chain. Whatever is your preference, there are many options available and you NEED to start doing your research NOW!!! There are also a variety of self-defense instructional videos that will show you how to escape from your attacker's grip in case he gets that close (that's why you need a personal protection device to zap the bastard before he gets anywhere near you).
Girls between the ages of 11 and 19 MUST download the free video, "JUST YELL FIRE". This video teaches girls how to fight back against their predators and live their life without fear. Moms, grandmothers, sisters, daughters - please go to http://www.justyellfire.com/ and watch a video that may save a young girl's life.
Remember ladies, dead women don't dance and I want you to dance for many, many years to come!!
The statistics prove what is going out there in the world and you need to protect yourselves with a personal protection device as well as learn simple self-defense techniques to knock the prick down if he has the chance to grab you. PLEASE--do not become a statistic yourself and get ARMED NOW!!!!!!
